We all need places to belong. A place of security, peace, where we can be real and discover God’s purpose for our lives. This is at the heart of what the Lantern has to offer.

 The Lantern Church is a growing congregation at the heart of the Merley estate committed to being a church that is “passionate about God, Each other & the Community of Merley”

Our aim in 2009/10 is to be a place where people are:

• Welcome whoever they are - Whether a tiny tot, teenager or touching retirement, if you’ve got questions, struggling with life, looking for friends we long to introduce you to others and ultimately the best friend of ALL…
• Able to use their God-given Gifts to make a difference - Basically, we need YOU to enable the kingdom of God to grow. Whatever you can offer there’s a place for you to serve and enjoy!
• Expecting to be Changed - When 2 or 3 get together God is there (that’s Biblical!) So, as individuals, in small groups or congretationally we have a desire to be transformed more like Jesus.

The Lantern is part of the Church of England and enjoys a close relationship with other key churches in the area especially Canford Parish Church and St. Barnabas, Bearwood (we form what’s called a ‘team ministry’).

As part of the New Wine Network we are associated with many churches in the UK and throughout the world, which are seeking to bring the good news of Jesus to the community around us.

The Lantern Church is known for its spirit of worship, energetic preaching, generosity, faith in the goodness of God and warm Christian love.
