Mission

As a church we are passionately committed to mission. As we are part of the Canford Team Ministry we give part of our annual budget (13%) to the central parish mission committee who pass the money onto projects & people sharing about Jesus with those abroad & in this
country.

Short Term Mission

Through a number of contacts we have set ourselves a goal of 2 short term missions trips per year with Lantern members using their gifts & talents to make a difference. Four visits planned for 2008 are:

Serbia (July 18 – July 26) - a team of 4 (including 3 young people) helped at a camp for Roma gypsy children aged 5-11. The team were Claire Johnson (UK), Becca Rimmer, Chloe George & Beki Ferenczy.

The Storehouse

An unheralded work (formerly known as the ‘Love Box’) which gathers food each week from church members and distributes food parcels to needy people in the community. You can drop in food on a Sunday in the red boxes in the foyer. Contact Carolyn Taylor (883896) with any questions or contributions.
